Pluey wins Event # 4

Happy Weekend,
Had a great weekend at the 4th stop of the WSA surf tour held at Oceanside Harbor in 3-5 fun peaky conditions.
This making it 4 wins in a row super amped.

Well Pluey has done it again 3 wins in a row.

WSA event # 4 was held down in Mission Beach Ca in some crazy surf.I knew the day before the event the weather was going to be a bit  crazy since it had rained and been windy the day before ,but little did i knoiw it was going to windier.

I woke up at 6am and looked out the window and saw it was overcast and really windy but i didnt let it discourage me i was so excited to be competing again it had been over a month so i was just super amped.

My shaper and good friend Jeff picked me up and we headed down to the comp .it was rainy and windy so we werent sure what to expect.

We arrived at the event at 7:00 and to are dismay it was 25 plus mile an hr winds and very choppy about 3-6ft storm surf.

My 1st heat was coming up at 8am i got ready checked in and paddled out for my 1st heat in the crazy conditions.I got my  1st wave and got a good score of a 7.0 and backed it up with another good score and took the heat win.

I came in super amped and just wanting to get back out there and get some more waves.

Thank god the water was warmer than the air ,but the rip was really strong and sucking us down the beach.

I surfed 5 more times that day and the wind got stronger and stronger ,the sun did come out though which was a plus..

Every heat got better and better score wise for me .I made the finals and i was just so fired up.

I got ready for my Final,Walked down to check in and size up my fellow finalist and just had that feeling i was going to paddle out and put everything into the final.I waited for the horn and paddled as hard as i could caught the waves i needed to take my 3rd win in a row .I was so stoked to say the least.Now i just need to keep the momentum going for the rest of the yr.

Hope you had a great weekend? Just got back from Ventura Ca for the 2nd stop of the WSA surf tour what a fun weekend.Not only was i up there competing but i was also filming for my part in an Up Coming UK 5 part  documentary about the West coast and i am the Feature on Surfing basically a day in the life of a Pro West Coast surfer.
Its being done by a famous UK Director by the name of Daniel Hissen google him he has done some cool stuff.And its a 5 part mini series on what makes the West Coast such a great place to visit.Its going to be seen all over the UK and the US to 7,000,000
 people I shot most of it this past week

 .Still have a little more to film.It will be seen the beginning of 2013 I will keep you updated. so excited to be apart of it .Back to the comp .I went up to ventura for the comp it was 2-4 ft fun waves and amazing weather. A little odd with a film crew following you the whole time.Had some great heats and low and behold Pluey does it again back to back wins .Lets just say im so stoked.But it was even better with Daniel there and the crew to catch it all on tape.which is part of the segment.So it was a great weekend.

Pluey continues where he left off from last yr

Well lets see this weekend was the 1st event of the 2012-2013 WSA season held at Trail 6 in SanClemente Ca

in 3-4 ft super clean and fun fun fun surf.

Leading up to the event i wasnt to nervous been so much going on to occupy my mind which was a great thing i was just so amped to be competing again ..The morning of the event i was so excited and just fired up to compete and start the new season.

I got up at 5am and arrived at the contest about 6am.Got my stuff toghter and did the nice long walk from the parking lot to the event site.On the way down you could see the waves were super clean and not to small like they had been earlier in the week.

My 1st heat was at 8:30 went out for a free surf to dust off the contest cobwebs .Caught a few waves and was ready.

Paddled out for my 1st heat of the yr so excited.Caught my 1st wave and just destroyed it picking up an 8.5 out of 10 caught 3 more waves and scored nothing below a 6 so i was ready for the day.Took the heat win and i kept the momentum through out the whole day winning every heat making it to 2 finals .

The masters and the Open .

Waves were still super fun .I was so excited to make the finals in the 1st even of the yr.Paddled out for the Masters final and continued where i had left off last yr.Got to solid waves and just kept relaxed and surfing as if i was at home free surfing.I knew at the end of that heat i had won and was all smiles.

I had a 10 min break till the open final.I was so happy from the previous final that i paddled out to relaxed and got a bunch of okay waves instead of waiting for the best waves.Ended up tasking  4th but wasnt bummed .All in all it was great day got to see all my fellow competitors who are also my great friends.

It was great to see everyone from last yr and how they progressed surfing wise it was just an amazing day.

I picked up where i had left off from last yr .Coming off a Masters West Coast title and a 2nd in the USA Championships.I will be defending my West Coast title and Aiming to take back my USA title.

Got 2nd over all in the Open so i want to get 1st and get back my 2010 Open title..

Pluey takes 2nd at USA Championships

Whatz up well it was a long yr but it was a good,I took 1st over all in the Masters for the Westcoast and defended my title, Took 3rd over all for the Open but i will win it in 2012 -2013 .
which brings me to the 2012 USA championship that happen the 19-23 of June .It started at HB with the trials and low and behold i won both heats to make the finalk that would be held at Lowers hell yea.
I show up at lowers the 23  its 3-4  ft clean lowers a little inconsistent but who cares its lowers and i get to surf it for 25 mins with 3 others yee ha.
Horn buzzes paddle out and its on .I take the lead right away and hold it for 24 mins but with 30 seconds to go it all comes crumbling down i drop from 1st to 2nd by a tenth .
I was super bummed but thats comps for you .I lost my USA title but guess what i will win that back in 2012-2013 you better believe it.

Pluey Wins Back to Back WestCoastMasters Titles

Well Pluey has done it again ,May 12 2012 WSA West Coast championships I nailed my 2nd West coast Masters  title which makes it back to back.
It was a great event I didn't have the best of Luck .I surfed the  Open men's and Masters divisions i started out with a bang nailing high scores in both with super fun 3-4 ft little A-frames but as the conditions changed i started to lose my rhythm
Ended up getting 5th in both Divisions but ended up 2nd for the yr in the open but was able to keep my Maters title since my rival got 3rd in the final which gave me the overall points and my 2nd Masters title.
Next up is the USA championships June 16-23 at HB and lowers.
